Praises to God we made it here with His Blessings and safety ! Have located a place to live and maybe soon will have a double wide trailer set on it. Will most likely be starting an Independent Baptist Church in the Morenci / Clifton area. For right now we are attending New Testament Baptist in Safford. I can highly recommend this congregation. Headed there soon. Mike in AZ

God does answer prayers ! May have our Drivers license and car plates today. Planning on clearing mesquit (firewood) and leveling for "whatever house type" we go with this afternoon. On an old Apache winter camp ground. Finally on the right side of "ol Muddy". Thank you Father ! Have an acorn stew recipe from an Apache Sister who's family roots go way back. These are good people.
Hey Kevin, Crank up that Lear Jet. At 3 Way Crossing there is a cement runway just 3 miles away.

You have it correct Dan. Elevation is right at 3850 in the York Valley where we will be. Got to 40 in the night. *5 during the day... Very nice ! There still is snow on the 8000 Mt but getting very faint. Was only a very little that fell on York last winter which melted as soon as the sun got up over the rim. But I was not here anyway.. Have our car registered, licensed and insured. I guess I am a vagabond come to roost in Arizona now. I think I will head over to a gunshop...

Good move! You should right away make yourself know with the local gun genre. Then maybe a drive to the hills to find shooting areas.

great location, along what used to be known as the "Devils Highway". Used to be numbered 666 but now 191. Have taken that road on numerous motorcycle trips. Its one of my favorites

Greetings 191 is a beauty. I did not know about the previous name. I am getting well accustomed to the stretch from Safford to 3-Way where it bumps into HWY75. When we get our stuff from ILL-nois down my 1971 R75/5 Beemer will get well used through though roads.
Good advice Dan. Months ago I searched on the webs and found the Clifton Range. Our second day scouting I made a trip there. Nice covered shooting benches with 300 yards for rifles / handguns with another 50 yard handgun spot.

I think I am pretty much done moving and Dell MT is my ending place. Whenever I did move one of my first places to make myself known was the local junk yards. I worked in a junk yard from 18 to 21 years old so I speak the language. I learned from working in one that if a guy wants something from the yard you never go in the front door you always go in the back and talk to the guys that do the work. Bring gifts like doughnuts, pizza, and drinks and once your in good with the workers your established . My purpose was of course always lead. Always remember when trying to establish yourself with the yard that money talks and BS walks. They dont want to piddle around with nickel and dimers. My policy is to always take all they have. Once established with that policy they always look forward to your visits and will even call to let you know there is some available.
Sometimes its quite a chunk of money if the have a couple ton but that is how I have run my business acquiring my supply at the lowest possible rate. In ten years here I have purchased one or more ton per year from the Pacific recycling in Butte. Its always been an important first move for me when moving to a new location..

After thinking on it last night I want to correct myself as to the volume of lead purchased while here in MT. For the first two years of the ten here I was not doing business. At that point we decided to get licensed to buy/sell firearms as well as to manufacture/sell ammo. From that time until now our volume of lead purchase has likely been closer to between 1000 to 2000 pounds per year with perhaps two of the eight years in business up to nearly 3000 pounds. That is probably closer to the actual numbers of combined purchase from the junk yard and other sources. Now what I am trying to decide is how much will I use until I either can no longer work or have moved on to my reward. I have a pretty good stockpile of perhaps 10,000 pounds but will use from 1000 to 2000 pounds per year. Its kind of hard to decide just how much I need because I dont know when my need will end.

Well Dan..the nice thing with lead is it will not loose value, nor walk away. Maybe start making double batches of higher demand bullets. Then in the future you could always have a "going out of business sale" or contact those who regularly use that slug and give then a deal.

We did that for a long time Mike but two problems arose from it. First we found it take a lot of storage space to keep a stock of bullets from the now about 400 different molds we have in inventory. Even if only half of those are the most common. Then there was the issue of aging where the bullets were oxidizing so no longer looked new when stored in bulk. Over the last two years we have tried to sell out all old stock for those reasons. What I was doing was to store as cast in bulk then size lube as ordered and that is what led to the problems. Storing sized lubed and boxed by the 100 helps extend the new look life but that is where the storage room becomes a problem. What I do now is to fill custom orders as they come in as well as over running those orders by a couple hundred then size, lube, and boxing those for auction at GB. We keep about 50 auctions running this way and they sell fairly fast. I just let custom orders dictate what gets made for auction. We grose 2K to 3K a month but that is not profit. After material cost I am not making much probably below national average minimum wage but we keep our bills paid and we have no debt. I put in a lot of hours but its something I like so not miserable time and it allows support of my shooting pleasure. No regrets as I have hope that my reward is in the future.

I do like the part about no dept and being able to pay the incoming bills. When I hit 13 my dad told me the simple solution to all finances was to pay cash and never borrow money. He did add... might need to borrow some to buy a house.
We have a lot purchased with natural gas, electric, water and septic already installed. Waiting now to see a couple people about getting our purchased mobile home on site. Maybe by July we will be unloading our stuff. Clearing the last roots and stumps for the move. Have Javalina, bobcat, quail and other critters crossing our land regular. Car is Arizona tagged. Have our plastic rectangles that say we are legal to drive here. Our God has kindly lead us about and opened the doors of blessing.
