How is this mass of cold air affecting you ? Looks like it will get real cold in places. I watch the weather in the basic area of AZ where we are looking to move this year and it was down to 23 ! About half of a day in January.

ML deer season came in Saturday here in Ohio, for 4 days. I drove back home, 160 miles to between Akron & Youngstown, Friday night. Got to sit in mixed rain & snow for about 4 hours Saturday, didn't get out Sunday, as it rained all day, Monday was nice, high of low 40's, not much wind, missed a doe at about 150 yds. at 3:40 P.M., watched 2 more in fence line a half hour later, quit at 5:10 P.M.. Watched weather, called my wife, & found out that during Monday night rain & high winds were coming in during the night, so, loaded up & came home. No venison for the freezer this year.

Howdy Dan This last snow system that is floating by, is it adding to your white winter wonderland ? Also, how much white water has been deposited in your area this year ?

The first part of winter was worrisome for us because we were very warm and dry with no snow. Summer in this country is made possible to endure because of winter snow pack. Without mountain snow pack there are water wars because of the tier system of water rights in the state. Over the last six weeks our temps have gotten to normal (average) and have been getting some snow nearly every day not much on some days but some. With the colder temps and steady snow fall our mountain snow pack is now up to normal. I am no longer worried about this summer. Even though we live right on the Red Rock River with a low snow pack the river can be diverted to those that have the top tier water rights which leaves us with none. Without water from the river we cant grow any garden. Amazingly though there is always Gods natural bounty every year regardless of the river level. You just have to take off the worldly glasses and see it for what it is and when ready harvest it and preserve it just as you would your own garden.

That is all good news. God does supply if we just can see it. We had a similar issue going on down here in southern Peru. There was a normal rain fall in December of about 1". Then January had near nothing and early February even dryer. But about mid Feb. it started raining in the afternoons regular with a couple afternoon rains of 1/2". So we are now a bit over 4" in our backyard. Not a lot but somewhat in the basic average. Much more rainfall back up in the real high ground (14,000 and up) where the reservoirs are that supply the water for this and other nearby valleys.
