Things are looking better at Starline as the weeks go along.

We just got a large back order on the Starline 375 brass. We have also been getting back orders of primers. Went to Butte today for another half ton of lead too. Guess vacation is over and time to start some serious production.

Maybe the cheapest way to a 375 Win or 38-55 is to find a beater 30-30 Marlin or Win and send to Jes for a re-bore. He is at $300.00 for a round trip now. We contacted him on the very subject last week. I was looking at prices of 375 Win rifles to use for testing ammo and thought there must be a better way. 375 Win ammo is a good selling item. Right now I am testing our 375 ammo in our 38-55 rolling block. Many years back out of curiosity I tried chambering 38-55 ammo in three different rifles chambered for the shorter 375 Win cartridge a Savage 99, a Win Big Bore, and a 375 Marlin. All three rifles accepted the longer cartridge without issue. I just assumed then that they didnt really change the cartridge just the pressure. There is a difference though in that a 38-55 is or should be a true 38 caliber with .380" groove but the 375 Win is a true 375 caliber with .375 groove. I always wondered why the engineers that designed the 375 Win cartridge and offered it in a 220 grain bullet went with the same rifling twist rate at 1/12" as the 375 H&H a cartridge that was offered with up to 350 grain bullets. That didnt seem to make sense to me but I am glad they did because our custom ammo for the 375 Win using an LBT-WFN 350 grain bullet is popular with hog hunters.

JES is the route we have gone. With his groove at .375+ (we have several) most any 375 mold is going to work well.
