If our nation forgets to be thankful to God for all our many blessings it deserves to be ruled by tyrants.

Yesterday I was reading something from a liberal blogger that stated that because so many millennials live with their parents and still cant afford everything they want indicates that our system is broken. What I wanted to say was you selfish ungrateful brat but instead I just thought it. The very idea that the generation with the most material things, comforts, and conveniences is the least satisfied is something that just grates me in a way that might bring out my worst me. It seems that being thankful for what they have is a concept unobtainable for them. Through out the history of the world there has been so much human misery and suffering just from the time they lived in that in our time has been eliminated. You would think that just to live in our time these people would be thankful for what they have but instead are disappointed with the things they have not. I really dont understand how this can be accept that it must be the result of the American dream in that each generation want their children to have it better than they did. In that process the current generation has been given everything with no attached responsibility. Gone full circle now the result is a generation totally lacking in gratitude. It reminds me of what JFK said back in the 60's """ ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country "" This too is a concept completely lost on a generation whining about half empty cups. It really bothered me that I could read such a thing the day before the national day of thanks giving. I know I just have to get over it because it is not my way. I have much to be thankful for and I truly am. Where once I was hungry I am now full, where once I was tired I can now rest, where once I endured pain I am now in comfort, I am not wealthy but am rich! God told me and everyone "" seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all things needed will be added unto me."" I need for nothing ! I am clothed, sheltered , and fed as he has promised. For these things and so much more I am truly thankful and now having said these things feel so profoundly sorry for a generation that that seems to lack the ability to be thankful. All my best to all my friends here on this special day to reflect on our cups being half full and not half empty! God Bless !

Brother, all I can really tell you or add to your most recent post is I feel your pain. As the father of two twenty somethings I’ve had to have more conversations than I ever thought I’d have too about appreciation for the things we have and the importance of how we prioritize the things we “think” we might need. I’m not sure there’s much hope to change the mindset of that generation at this point, we won’t anyway, I do believe I’ve taught my children well enough that hopefully they will be a positive influence on their peers. That along with time and life experience will hopefully bring a lot in not most around to understanding the things that are truly important and things they should be thankful for! I hope everyone here had a fantastic day!!

I apologize if I was offensive to anyone as that was not my intent. I may have gone a wee bit over the top in trying to relate my frustration. When I think of as a nation where we have been and then can plainly see where we are headed at times I just want to cry in disbelief knowing it is these very same ungrateful people that are steering our country to the abyss. At times I have to remind myself that this is not home and we must endure the travail before the new birth. Hold fast to the faith until the end and you shall receive a crown of life. Hold on brothers and sisters its going to be a rough ride, " the worst the world has ever known "" To the world success is the acquisition of wealth but to God success is the salvation of your soul. The Bible teaches the exact opposite of the world that wealth is the greatest obstacle to Biblical success. My heart breaks knowing the many chase the world view and that I am helpless to change it. This whole post sounds so down and depressing but its how I am feeling about the world around me. Watching world events unfold and matching them to the Bible end times revelations. Its weird in a way because its so exciting to see Biblical prophesy playing out but at the same time sad to watch the worldly sheep being led to the slaughter.

I agree with you brother, I truly do. It’s awfully hard to try and be positive when we seem to be confronted with only negative day in, day out. It is made much easier knowing our time here is only temporary, if most are lucky I believe 77 trips around the sun is the new average. That’s not near as long as it used to be either! I don’t view your posts as being over the top or negative either, the truth is the truth and if folks find fault or are uncomfortable with it then perhaps there are things in their own lives they need to put in order. I know you get frustrated, just like I do, try and get away from the media for a bit and go up to the roost for a few hours and I’m quite sure that big ole smile will be refreshed once again! Take care my friend!!
