I’m in the market to get a electronic game call. I’m going to work for the state of Alaska next week, which will give me 3 days off a week do go do things.
I’ve never had any luck calling with mouth calls. I don’t know if it’s because I’m mostly deaf and don’t make god noises, or if I just suck at it, or maybe I’m just impatient but I’ve never had any luck.
The two I’m looking at are the Foxpro Inferno and the Icotech GS500. Both are around $200. Both hold 200 sounds. The icotech has a free sound library of over 10,000 sounds, and the fox pro you have to buy extra sounds, but I can use other company’s sounds as we where the GS500 is stuck only using sounds from Icotech.
Both are decoy comparable. The fox pro has the option of rechargeable battery’s. The fox pro also has Foxbang, which you can set to change the sound of the call when it decects a gun shot.
I’m leaning toward the fox pro, but was just curious is anyone had any suggestions.

We have only used an electronic call to get crows headed our way. Once we see them I switch to a mouth call I have used for 40 years to "talk to them crows" and either get them to happily come in or to start a fight. Never found an electronic that could match my human ability to fast answer a crow by the way it just talked to me. Or change the dirrection the call noise is going to. I assume you are going to call fox or yotes ?

In my experience don't let the number of sounds available dictate your choice. Of the many sounds I have on a Fox Pro I find I only use just a few of those. The rest are clutter on the selector that makes it more difficult to find the few I use. I still use both the fox Pro and the hand call together because as Mike said sometimes you need to switch sounds fast and grabbing the hand call on a lanyard around my neck is the fastest way. There is also portability and in a long day of walking a 1 0z hand call is way easier than that several pound electronic call with a couple spare battery packs plus all other essentials for the day. In a good day where you pick up two or three furs and their added weight to the load makes for quite a withering day.
