Having a new roof out on one of the buildings at work 3 hours north of Fairbanks. Subcontractors came to me yesterday worried about lead flashing they found on the roof. I told them to pile it up and I would make it disappear.
Scored about 600lb of pure lead flashing out of it. Now I guess I need to get a lead pot and molds again.

Now you need to submit a disposal fee bill. A couple year ago I picked up some 50 pound ingots of antimony that came from the Butte mines. I am still formulating a plan to melt them to alloy with lead. I am thinking I need to build a large rocket stove. I have secured a section of about 20" heavy steel pipe about 4 ft long for that purpose but still have not gone further with that project. When the need arises it will then likely happen. For the time being I have plenty of other hard lead for use. The lead scrap I was getting from Nosler the stuff you made a trip to Missoula to pick up for me was tested at 98% lead to 2% antimony. When air cooled that alloy ran about BHN-9 and with a small amount of reclaimed shot added for the arsenic content it quench hardens to BHN-15. Interestingly when quenched in a brine it hardens to BHN-17. When blended with 25% linotype it will quench harden to BHN-24 and when mixed about 50/50 with wheel weights it will quench to BHN-20 Just throwing these numbers out there to give you a base to work with if you need to harden some of that lead. If you cant find any source of hard lead already alloyed with antimony there are places on the net where you can by recovered shot at a fair price. If you know of any trap or skeet clubs up there they occasionally mine for shot so you might contact them in that regard.
I made a good score last week to. I met a man at a gun show that said he had about 100 pounds of block tin and asked if I would be interested. Well of course I was and we ended up making a deal where I bought all he had about 120 pounds for $175.00. When I got home I checked the price of tin at Roto Metals and their price is $27.00 per pound so I felt pretty good about that deal.

Yep I would be looking up with a rather large smile extending from one hearing apparatus to the other.
