NICE !!!! In my experience with C.Sharps they shoot as good as they look. I was a dealer for them when I had a shop in Alaska some years ago. They were going through hard times as John had some major medical bills piling up from his wife being hit by a car. They had a dealer incentive program that was pretty much the more you bought the cheaper they were. We bought ten at a time and at that time were getting the lower priced business rifles at about $500.00. This was when they were only producing the 75 model. By the time they started offering the 74 Sharps and 1885 Win they were getting back on their feet and quit the incentive program.
I have used their 1875, and 1874 Sharps and 1885 Highwall models and all have been excellent shooters. I took a nice bull moose with one of their 74's in 50-90 shooting a 600gn paper patch bullet and it seemed like plenty of gun for such big game.
That Saeco mold I got for you is a good design that has been shooting good for me. I like it for smokeless loads because the nose diameter at .451" is a more snug fit in a standard .450"x.458" barrel. For BP I like the nose a little smaller about .448" so the bullet nose doesn't interfere with BP fouling in the lead so continues to chamber freely with some fouling. I have an original Winchester mold marked 45 Gov that produces a 405gn round nose bullet that measures .444" just ahead of the top lube groove and tapers from there. That bullet was designed with BP fouling in mind.
Anyway glad to hear you got your rifle and hope it brings as much pleasure as my first Sharps did for me. That is one pretty rifle !
