Anyone else hoping for a little global warming? Frozen pipes this AM, BUMMER!!! A prelude to next weeks predicted misery! In my long johns and slippers doing the frozen pipes tango in the basement. Stay tuned for the excitement when the pipes thaw to become our new sprinkler system. Longing for the time when these temperate zones will become more, well, temperate.

Maybe God has blessed and no splits were found. I do not miss going about with a torch hoping to hear the ice start to flow through. Was only 68 today.. had to wear a jacket while on the 2 wheeler ... Real tough day.

Praise the Lord !!! no broken pipes. The culprit was that someone's children left the basement door open and when the temp dropped to -15 that cold air dropped down the outside stairs and froze everything near the floor. The well line comes in at the floor level so froze going into the pressure tank. The importance of keeping that door closed has been amply stressed. Interesting how thirsty everyone gets and how everyone needs to use the toilet as soon as they know there is no water. It is entirely possible I let the situation linger by turning the pump off just to stress the point. Misery is an effective teacher!

Well thought out plan my Brother ! Busted pipes are no fun. Thanks to God ! Last door that got left open at our place was the outside gate and near cost us a motorcycle. God kindly helped us that evening.
