As I sit here, up to my elbows in orders, training schedules, an essay on ISIS/ISIL, and career progression counseling; I can't help but think back to that time 12 years ago when I started this game to avoid school work. Talk about making a man laugh in misery.
I do a couple lines of homework, then read about guns, then a couple more lines, then read about reloading, a couple more lines, and then read about something else non-homework related.
I'm just looking forward to getting back home to the family and my reloading shack.
Thanks to the forum for being here to help keep me sane!

Now,Dick, with 8 or a little les to go,(if you choose to)you have to expect a rigorous schedule....BTW,what enlisted rank is required to be allowed to carry on past 20..and what about officers, --still 20 & out if you haven't made Major.(as it was "back in the day").? ?..1Oxxxxxxxxn

1oldgentagain, you have to be a GySgt/E7 that has not been twice passed for promotion to go over 20. Even then, you're limited to 22 years. A 1stSgt/MSgt can go up to 27 with caveats, and a SgtMaj/MGySgt can go to 30 and stagnate Marines below them for a long time, lol. I'll probably push through to 20...maybe. I'm still trying to talk the Mrs. into letting me roll out early so I can start my job sweeping floors at the movie theater earlier.
As for officers, I'm not sure. Never really gave much thought to their career progression as they are on a whole other wavelength.
Heck, I'm sitting here doing homework again. 2 more weeks and I'll be back home with the family and back in my reloading room.
