Greetings Any Dan Wesson Revolver shooters about ? I am when we are north up there. Absolutely my favorite brand and we have all the others nearly. Do not have any of the recent DW .357's though. Our's are those from 1990 and older.

I have never been so fortunate as to have guardianship of a DW. I remember reading way back when hand gun silhouette was hot about how the DW revolvers dominated the competition. Also about the stretch barrel changing system and its effect on barrel harmonics. Came close several times but never took the leap.

Hi Dan We got our 1st DW .357 in Chattanooga back in 78. Had a couple 38 Specials but a .357 is a good option. Walked into the downtown Pawn Shop which was near the Rescue Mission I helped at. Told the counter man I was looking for a .357 Revolver 6". e pointed to the next case which had numerous .357's from all the makers. Off to one side sat the barely used DW $70 less than the well used SW's. I had heard of DW's and the unique features. I asked why that nice looking DW was less than all others. Feller said "No one else is interested. Everyone wants Colt, SW and so forth. So I asked to see the DW 15-2. Looked like new. So it came home with me.... Still with us. Still very accurate. Change out the barrels in 2 minutes. That was the beginning. I was well hooked and landed. Should have bought stock in DW !

I have a small collection of DW revolvers. 22, 357 Max, 41 Mag, couple 375 Super mags, couple 44 mags. Am contemplating converting one of 44s to 45 Colt. Not that I need another 45 Colt mind you. My favorite is the 375 SuperMag. The lock up and barrel tensioning system make the DW revolver the most consistently accurate revolvers I own.

You have a fine group there ! We converted one of our 44 DW's so it is a swap caliber into 45 Colt. Happy we did it. Did this back when cylinders were available from CZ. I should have bought a dozen 44 cylinders. We also turned our .375 SM into a swap 414 SM. Again I should have bought extra SM cylinders. Next will be a 445 SM. On the 15-2 frame we also have a 32-20 switch that stays that way. Have other 15-2 frames for 357 shooting. The DW barrel system is fantastic. I find it hard to believe DW went under twice.

What cast bullet are you using in the 375?

The most we use is the 375248 (Lyman 255 FNPB) to duplicate 38-55 loads to punch corn crunchers in ILL-nois when up north. Cannot use a rifle. Also the slightly heavier 375 but has the GC if we are hunting open fields but that is real rare. River bottoms are our favorite. we figure at under 25 yards 950 fps is plenty. Range scrap makes big holes and will go clean through the chest or bust both shoulders. Have a lighter Ideal 37560 (?) made for the 38-50 Ballard that we use for for pliking and groud hogs.
