Saw a Contender Barrel advertised made by Ingram in .357 CS. Spent some time searching about and have found nothing. Even the "wildcat" places no info.

No idea here either. The 350 legend is all the rage now in 35 caliber. Even S&W jumped in and chambered their big X frame for it. Too bad the designers for some reason chose an off diameter for bullets.

To be sure someone saw the $$$ sign twinkle past. Molds, Bullet sizers, Reloading dies, reamers...... Plus all the New shooters want something New ! How can a "new" be a "Legend" ? I always thought the 351 Winchester SL was a fine idea ! Then the .357 Max / Supermag.
I have given up searching for the .357 CS. When / if I find info I sure will publisize it. Maybe write a New Book about an obscure cartridge. Why maybe it will be a "one and only ! Have to find it 1st.

it's been noted that on some other forums, the 360 Buckhammer (.358") is the darling now. it is a cut down 30-30? straight wall case. supposedly it is for straight wall states.
i luv the 35/30-30 so much that it is #1 in my book. i have the 357 Herrett (10" Contender barrel) but i have yet to shoot it.
i've never heard of the 357 CS.

The little bit I have "learned" is that the 357 CS was brought out maybe about 1970 ? But that is it.... Nothing? I do know Ingram was the inventor of the MACK auto guns. #6 then #10 and finally #11.

Their designers must have switched sides. Its now an assault revolver.

Well I am starting to think that the .357 CS cartridge was so unpopular and there were so few produced it went the way of the Dodo bird fast.

A near instant collectors item. Yesterday I started reading Ned Roberts book on single shot rifles. In the first chapter on Sharps rifles he mentions the model 1875 Sharps of which he claimed that there was one in existence. I had read elsewhere that three were made with two of those with known whereabouts. I hope to be the guy to find the third one and maybe too much to hope for it having a 1943 copper penny inlaid into the stock, nirvana !

A rare Sharps would be a find ! The 1876 did seem an odd looking rifle after the any years of heavy hammer side lock rifles.

A little info as surfaced. David Ingram made "custom" Contender barrels back in the early 70's. Then on Gunbroker a rifle length barrel was sold.
