i had to t take the Johnsons' paste wax off of my rifle, but i didn't. i instead took Citri-strip and took everything off. i sanded with 400 grit and then copper wool. then i cheese clothed it and put 5 coats of Minwax Antique Oil. then i put 3 coats of Minwax Poly oil/mineral spirits (3:1). i didn't feel the need to rotten stone/3in1 oil, it was smooth and shiny!!!
