question ---
So I am fairly new to muzzle-loading and I am trying to find a bullet and load that will work in OR for Antelope and Deer... I have a 2019 CVA Optima rifle, I have a found a very good load for Washington state that is super accurate with 209 primers. However with my 11 points in Oregon I think its time to apply for a muzzleloader tag!!!
Any help and recommendations would be great! I was hoping for a 300 ish grain or less bullet to try and maximize my effective range.
answer---
Do you realize that in 50 caliber a 300 grain bullet is very short so will range poorly . It will loos velocity at a higher rate so drop will be greater and energy lower than a heavier bullet with higher BC at all ranges . If as you said you want to maximize your effective range in 50 caliber a 300 grain bullet is a poor choice.

What does Oregon legal mean ? What is your rifling twist rate ? What bullet diameter ?
