Dan;
I spoke with Kurt at Shiloh Sharps on Tuesday about a rifle he is re-barreling for me, he advised me that Lucinda has been away and will be returning next week. She is who I reached out to for shipping me the “Nasa Lube” so I should have an answer for you next week.
Can you please tell me what you can about your “Nasa lube” (attributes)? I started competing in BPCR silhouette here in Canada and have had some fouling and leading issues in the past. I have used various lubes including SPG, DGL, and others, however my best results have been with buddy's home brew of bees wax, beef tallow, a little lithium grease, and Murphy’s oil. I understand your “Nasa” is the best thing since “Sliced bread” and hoping it works well for me (and I could use all the help I can get ha ha!)
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
God Bless!

We used the name NASA for our BP lube because its synthetic ester base was developed by the NASA space center as a lubricant for deep space exploration where extremes of heat and cold will be encountered. It was the extreme heat protection that I was targeting because at shoots like the Quigley it can get very hot and many competitors have lube melt down problems. Where other lubes fail ours excels. We have had feedback from many users that from using other lubes they have gotten some leading build up especially in the last few inches of long barrels over 30”. When switching to our NASA it not only prevented any leading but also removed what leading had previously been deposited in the barrel. As long as you use a bullet design that has adequate lube volume you will never get any leading using NASA lube with black powder or smokeless powder at appropriate chamber pressures for plain base bullets.
We also engineered our lube to keep the fouling soft and under normal conditions where humidity is over 20% no blowing is needed. For extremely low humidity conditions where a blow tube will be used our lube hydrates very well to keep the fouling soft.
I have been asked many time why if my lube is so good haven’t I won any national championships and my answer is that I lived in Alaska and raised 9 children and could never afford the luxury of time or travel. The truth is though that our lube has won some national championships even though we couldn’t go. I never advertised the lube because I always felt a good product will advertise itself in time and I think we are seeing that now.

Well…you have me sold on using it….I will compete all year with it (the good Lord willing) and can promote it for you with the others I compete with, if you so wished.
I would still like to start with the 10 lb. order and a couple of bottles of “Bull Plate” mould lubes, and whether Shilho sends it to me, or I come get it… I truly want to try it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to quench my curiosity …. You explained my leading issues to a “T”.
