We would like to announce that we are now making available two new products from The Bullshop.
These will be new offerings to our customers but the products are not new but are things I have been using in my own casting.
I cast between 2 to 3 ton of lead a year through my RCBS pots and these products keep things running smoothly for me.
First up Bullshop clean flow flux is a cleaning flux I have been using that greatly aids in recovering the heavy oxides in the slag that can form from running high casting temps. For casting small caliber bullets the high alloy temp is needed to keep the mold temp up for good cavity fill.
The downside to high alloy temp is higher rate of oxidation of the alloy especially when there is turbulence in the pot such as when ladle casting.
This flux when used as instructed will reduce these oxides so that what is left to be skimmed is a near weightless black carbon powder.
This flux also aids in blending alloys especially alloys with a fairly high percentage of Antimony such as when blending Linotype with pure lead or other alloys such as wheel weights.
This is also a great flux for smelting scrap lead such as wheel weights.
We are packaging this in 6 oz blocks. It takes about 1/8 of an ounce to clean a very nasty 25 pound pot of dirty metal. A piece about the size of a walnut half is about right for a 25 pound pot.
Six oz. blocks will be $9.00 plus shipping. I think maybe 4 blocks will fit a small flat rate box at $7.00 shipping. Price reduction $6.00 per 6 oz block.
Second new product we are now offering is an improved Bullplate sprue plate lube we will call Bullplate M&M. The M&M indicates the addition
of malibdinumdisulfide in micron particulate size. The original Bullplate works so well and has helped thousands of casters do a better job and
also help make their molds work better for longer. Its great stuff that works BUT Bullplate M&M just works better.
Over time the micron moly will penetrate the pores of the metal of the mold blocks and sprue plate and season the mold so that additional
treatments become less frequently needed. Simply put the addition of moly just makes a great product
even better.
We will continue to offer our original Bullplate sprue plate lube at the original price of $4.00 per 2 oz bottle. We will offer the improved Bullplate M&M at $5.00 per 2 oz bottle
These are things that I use and work well for me so it seems only fair to make them available to everyone.
