It looks to about the size of a Colt Detective Special, a very good size for a concealment revolver. $899 suggested retail takes it out of the easy decision buy/no buy category, for me at least. Pretty it ain't.

I want to get my wife a compact revolver, but she has her sights set on a Ruger LCR. I'm probably gonna get her the LCR-X because ai like the option of single action. I would like to try one of the 3" LCR-X one of these days.

My wife is very fond of a S&W Ultra-Lite Titanium 357 with lazer grips. A State police officer bought it new. While still at the police Supply store bought a box of 357 158 Soft Point's and fired 5 rounds at the indoor range. Officer took the revolver back to the sales area and told the clerk to "Sell it today". I walked in 2 hours later and laid down $350 out the door. My wife shoots 38 Special power 357's we load with 160 grain wad cutters cast from 40-1.

Wad cutters are amazingly effective at disrupting tissue. Jr. and I did a phone book test of some different bullet nose shapes and the wad cutter was by far the most destructive.

W came to the same conclusion just looking at paper targets. Sharp edges cut a whole... not just push material aside that can close back up.

In our testing the wad cutter produce a larger volume of confetti being blown out the back but the most surprising difference was the amount of radial tearing outward from the impact point with the tearing being extended farther from the impact point than from other bullet nose shapes. The tears would be trauma affected areas so the wad cutter will produce a larger diameter of damaged tissue around the impact point in live tissue.

Another fine old proven factory round (pardon my language here!!) is the Remington .38 Spcl +P 158 gr LSWCHP R-38S12 www.usconcealedcarry.com/buffalo-bore-heavy-38-special-p-lead/Also, Speer Gold Dot LE Duty 38 Special Short Barrel Ammo 135 Grain +P Jacketed Hollow Point By chance you should find some loose cast wad cutters around the homestead, they'll work pretty good also - reasons stated in above Posts. For a functional tool, the newer Ruger LCR's are hard to beat: price n' purpose. They're basic tools, but perform pretty good. With the LCR vs LCR-x: LCR has concealed hammer: won't snag in purse, pocket or ?, and less likely to get link/debris internally when carried in purse/pocket/etc. LCRx has exposed hammer: will snag in purse, pocket or ? I too like/prefer a hammer on 'most' hand irons, but also appreciate the attributes of a concealed hammer. I'm speculating this hand iron would be for 'social entertaining', if it came down to it, correct? It would be primarily used 'within dancing distance', correct? It will be for 'her' use, correct? Perhaps the husbandly thing to do is let her decide which one 'she' prefers. uh, you get to decide which irons you prefer, don't you!!

And if at all possible let her try to remove it from however it will be carried about. Those nice pocket / purse holsters really do a good job keeping the social entertainer (I like that ) in attainable position.
Decided to change the AVATAR... This is a Chumali cactus with the fruit. They grow in the very driest spots and run along the ground like a snake. The fruit is very sweet.. red inside and out when real ripe. Has all sorts of good nutritional value one of which is a natural prostate medicine. I eat one a day and become a portable irrigation system.
They are near impossible to transport on a motor cycle even in a backpack as they are very fragile. I have tried.
