I think 30 rem brass recently became available again. I am also pretty sure they can be made from 30-30 by turning off the rim and cutting an extractor groove. These are nice rifles the 25 and 30 Remingtons that have not yet gone through the roof on price. It also has a little sibling in 25-20 and 32-20 but those are no longer cheaply priced.
Good score!

grafs has 30 rem brass and dies and a shell holder, they also have 25 & 32 rem brass and dies too. i bought rcbs dies and a shell holder from amazon and i bought the brass from grafs. you can make 30 rem brass from 30-30 by doing what you said. i am cheap and lazy bas-turd , so for the price of 30 rem brass, i'll swallow my pride and get it from grafs.(which i did)

No problem with that. Its nice to know though that if you cant find factory brass there is an alternative.

Well I am not a ball of fire lately either but necessity can force function. In some cases though like the 25-20 SS there is no factory and no other case to easily form from.

thats one reason why i don't have 22 lovell . if they( i'm talking starline) would make 25-20 ss brass, i would take 500 pcs off their hands.

It is amazing with the scarcity of 25-20 SS brass people still can sell those rifles. I recon collectors are the buyers unless the rifle comes with brass.

Available brass in 25-20 ss would put a lot of old guns back in use again. I have two boxes from Schroeder bullet works that he made from 223 but I think he is done due to health issues. I have been using his 22 CCM brass made from 22 hornet for about 20 years and its good brass. I got the 25-20 ss brass just because he had it when I made my last order. By annealing after every couple shots I can make that two boxes last a long time. I have been watching like a cat ready to pounce if I see a Stevens model 44 or dare I even think it a model 44 1/2 in 25-20 ss at a good price.

We have a Stevens model 44 that started out as a 32 RF but is now a 32 S&W long. This is a very simple conversion and the low pressure of the 32 S&W long is very kind to the relatively week model 44 action. My younger girls like shooting this rifle for its very mild report and low recoil. It is also quite accurate. I had some doubt because the RF cartridge used a .316" diameter bullet at about 90gn but the just as old Lyman 3118 design at 115gn at .314" leaves nothing to be desired for accuracy. The 25 RF rifles I believe can be converted to 25 acp but because of the .251" diameter rifling grooves are somewhat limited as to cast bullet designs. We have only one bullet for the 25 acp the Lyman 60gn round nose plain base. Bullets for the 25-20 would likely deform too much sizing down to fit. The model 44 in 32 RF was $160.00 on GB. The bore looked not too good in the pictures but I hoped it would clean up and it did. Why people in the gun selling business regularly refuse to clean guns they are selling I dont understand because you would think that the better they look the more they will bring but most dont touch them and sell them as they receive them. The conversion to CF and the re-chamber to 32 S&W long was $65.00 so we have a nice little gun at a modest cost. This is the heavy barrel version with half round half octagon contour and deep crescent butt which makes for a very steady off hand shooter.

Daniel, if you watch your mail this week, .25-20 S.S. brass hopefully will be put to use. I found 1 in with the loose used .25-20 brass, so put in a box by itself.

Good morning Is there a quality and / or a mechanical advantage between models 141 and 14 in caliber. 35 ? I have already seen the price differences. Thank you
