question Can you tell me the overall weight of one of your 348 rounds? Bullet, casing and powder. I just inherited a supply and trying to figure out the billet weight W/o taking one apart. Even the weight of 5 or 10 of them w/o the box. Thanks.
answer I don’t think that will help you. For one thing our 310gn bullet is a custom design and there was never a commercially available bullet over 250gn weight for the 348 wcf until ours.
Another point I would make is powder charge weight. There are numerous different types of powders that have been used to load the 348 wcf and each will have a different charge weight depending on the powder burn rate with the faster burning powders being loaded with a smaller weight charge than the slower burning powders that will use a heavier powder weight charge.
Another weight variation will be found between lot numbers of brass as well as manufactures. With all the possible weight variations involved the weight of our ammo will tell you nothing positively for certain about your ammo.
The only way to be sure is to pull a bullet and weigh it. If you have loading tools you can then re-seat the bullet on the original powder charge and nothing is lost.
