Greetings When I bought our first revolver years back found out there was a revolver right grip made to be hooked on the belt or on the waist band. Called Hip Grips (molded plastic) they worked nicely on our S&W 36 (still have it) and other revolvers. As time went by the company closed up as wheel guns drifted into history as primary defense hand guns.
Years later I still like Hip Grips. But there are none down here in southern Peru. Have a S&W model 13 3inch 357 that makes a fine CC revolver. So it came time to put together some new grips. Been raining a lot here this year (3x normal) so the time arrived. My first right grip did not work out as I tried just wood and the grain did not take the stress. Next try involved a laminated grip with steel insert expoxied in between. Used a Rossi Hip Grip for a "somewhat" pattern. This one works and is stout.
Decided to add a matching left grip panel also so I could shape both sides to my hand size.

NEAT!!! Bring back the hip grip! Long live the hip grip! Maybe its time is now. Small revolvers are making a comeback for concealed carry.
