Recently provided a home for a Dutch Artillery M1985 carbine, in 6.5x53R. Basically a twin to the 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1903 carbine cartridge I use. Anyone here have experience with this round? I've 44 re-formed .303 British cases and 37 Bertram 6.5x53R cases to work with. The Hornady 6.5mm 160 gr SP is a splendid bullet for use, but shall be going with a cast bullet for plinking n' general woods loafing use. Most likely the Lyman 266469, 140 gr GC bullet - and I know a fella that's able to make some of these (when not out trapping). I've read some on the Lee 150 gr and 170 gr (170 perhaps a bit long?). Anyone with experience with these Lee bullet weights in 6.5mm: 6.5x53R, 6.5x54, 6.5x50, 6.5x52, 6.5x55? The below web site gives good information on the Dutch carbine. Carbines like this are a joy to carry n' use in the field, rather handy. candrsenal.com/rifle-dutch-mannlicher-carbine-no-3-old-model/

Good morning and the Welcome mat is well used. I know little about 6.5's in any shape. But I do know two fellers who have been shooting at targets very far away for years that are well entrenched in 6.5's. Sooner or later some of the "snow hunters" will get back in and jab some keys. Mike in Peru
